On our last podcast Linda Eve shared her heart-wrenching story of how she went from almost becoming a medical doctor in Cambodia to being relocated to a forced labor camp in the country by the Communists. She was there for five years before escaping. She told how she had to walk nearly 100 miles on foot through jungles, and avoiding mine fields, to Thailand before coming to America.

In Cambodia, a genocide was carried out by the by the Communist Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979. During that period soldiers relocated most of the population from urban cities to forced labor camps. Malnutrition, torture, and mass executions led to the deaths of an estimated 25% of the total population - 1.5 to 3 million people. How did Linda Eves endure these hardships?!

It was like a child having free run in a candy shop. Neon lights glowed in the night skies. Music blared out from the discotheques. Drugs and alcohol were widely available. Did any of this bring Hans happiness, peace, or freedom?
